Launched in 2009, Take a Hike® educates and entertains guests through immersive experiences and tours of Cleveland’s historic and landmark districts. Showcasing history, architecture, heritage and culture, tour guides share interesting stories and historical insights at various points of interest.

December Tours + Holiday Exhibit
Celebrate the season with friends and family on our holiday tours. Stroll under falling snow and glowing holiday lights while hearing stories of downtown Cleveland’s charm from years gone by.
SELF-GUIDED TOURS
Available 24/7
Perfect for those that want to experience tours independently, at a time that works best for them, a selection of FREE Self-Guided tours are available 365 days a year, 24/7. Using GPS on your mobile device, you can navigate the route, pausing at designated stops and listening to the tour guide share information. Historical Clevelanders’ stories are still available via companion videos provided. Allow 45-60 minutes to enjoy a self-guided tour.
TAKE A HIKE PASSPORT
Pick up a passport at any tour and collect a sticker at each tour you attend. Collect 8, then mail in to be entered for a chance to win amazing prizes, like Hyatt Regency overnight stays, Guardians game tickets, and eatery gift cards.
Passports received remain eligible to win prizes for one year! Prizes are drawn twice a month, announced on social and winners notified by email.

Our flagship program offers primarily free, 90-minute guided walking tours of Cleveland’s historic and landmark neighborhoods. Along every tour, two historical Clevelanders, portrayed by talented actors and actresses, share their stories and highlight their roles in shaping our city.

NEW Strolls continue October through November! These immersive tours may include visits to historic archives, museums and churches as well as food tastings and feature historical character portrayals.
