Little Italy

Take a Hike: Summer Series tour

June + July | Tuesdays | 6pm

Cleveland’s Little Italy began to take shape in the late 1800s, as Italian immigrants made their homes in the neighborhood centered around Mayfield and Murray Hill Roads and many working in the nearby marbleworks. In 1911 it was estimated that 96% of the inhabitants were Italian-born, and another 2% were of Italian parents.

Today, the area remains a vibrant reflection of its roots, where tradition lives on through its art, architecture, and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors are drawn to its cozy cafes, family-owned bakeries, neighborhood trattorias, charming shops, and beloved annual events that continue to celebrate its rich heritageToday the neighborhood retains its historic and cultural charm.
